METUS^® supports the design of modular product architectures. Inputs are the specific customer and market requirements from the product specifications to the product functions and the needed norms.

METUS^® shows it's capabilities in modeling and visualizing of modular product architectures. Based on the product idea, a functional structure is displayed. This could then be implemented in the physical product structure from the components to the modules and lastly in the entire product.

Depending on the application, individually chosen optimization methods could then be used, e.g.: Function optimization, variance optimization, target-costing, as well as modularization and standardization.

Based on defined criteria such as: Time to market, costs, weight, engineering and production hours, improvement potential could be precisely measured.

The results are optimized modular product architectures, product catalogs, supplier/assembly structures and the appropriate design structures.
