In the upcoming issues of ID-News, we will
introduce you to a variety of innovative solution
modules. Today we will offer you a sample with our
unique solution module called Variant Management.
Variant Management
in Product Business
In order to avoid complex daily business
processes which often result in prohibitive costs,
ID-Consult offers proven success in just three easy
steps with METUS:
1. Reduction of Variance:
As a first step, the required
external variance of a product is systematically
described by a set of product features such as speed or
color. Then variants are identified
and eleminated that lie outside the defined variant
spectrum.
2. Optimization of
Variance: During the second step, a
process known as "variant driver analysis" is performed.
The impact of variance on the components of the product
is visualized and minimized using the METUS methodology.
3. Control of Variance:
This optimized product architecture
is the starting point of the third step - long-term
variance control.
